MOUNTiT ( pronounced like surfboard wall mount. Mount-it) Today.
the newest, safe and easiest way for a surfboard to contain, control and display their equipment in their living environment.
MOUNTiT is a product designed for all those surfer
enthusiasts who need to store their equipment
safely out of harm’s way when not out on the water.
The Rax product is side mounted on the wall, allowing
you to securely friction hang your equipment up so
the tails of your surfboard are protected
and out of the way. The Mount-it product is
versatile, no matter the size of the board rack, as it can handle it and no adjustments are required.
While Mount-it will keep your cherished equipment safe, it
also gives you option to store it in a fashion where
it can be seen. The unique design is carefully
balanced so there will not be any stretch or straining to the fibre glass, which means your equipment
will stay in shape.
The places you could put a MOUNTiT? Along the hallway, in the bedroom, in the waxing room, or at a beach house or lodge.
You could even have a line of them in the living room as a back drop wall of surfboards to make a surfboard showcasing.
(there are endless locations)!
It’s the best way and only one way on the retail market to display a board like MOUNTiT does today.

Picture this… you pull into the drive, get out of
the car grab the groceries, you struggle at the front
door with the keys, shut the door with your
spare leg whilst thinking about the amazing weekend
you just had at surf beach and BANG! You dented it;
you have knocked the board over and it has made a 101 dent
from leaving it leaning against the wall.
Surfboards are generally are stored somewhere
flat on the floor, taking up unnecessary space or are dangerously balanced up against the wall. This
leads to them becoming a domestic problem.
If people are participating in the sport of
Surfboarding, they generally love it!
Often, the investment people make into their equipment
is driven by function and fashion. They pay for them
and enjoy them; however, people only get the chance
to enjoy them on average about 3% of the time they
own them for and the rest of the time, people struggle
to safely store their equipment or hide it away. I believe in making
a place to store this equipment and adding value to the product by displaying and elevating it to be an icon in the home.

Knowing that my market is untouched in the retail industry for home use surfboard racks, I see a niche leaving a hole for my product MOUNTiT to fill. I think this market is untapped because no product of this type has tried to keep up with the fast moving fashion of this diverse industry. Current designs are limited by function and have no design aesthetic of a board that reaches the target market.
My target market ranges from approximately 12-60 years and it includes males and females who own or members of their family own any kind of surfboards. I believe that many of my customers will be homeowners, batch or lodge owners. My retail target market will be in New Zealand and will extend worldwide on the internet!
MOUNTiT is made from traditional material to bring back the feeling of certainty in the product. Consumers will have confidence that it will last and protect their equipment. In New Zealand today, I have priced each Rax at approximately retail at around $100 Kiwi, as my investigation has shown that my target market will pay between $80-$160.
The best thing I see the production of MOUNTiT doing for Wellington is known as a city with a strong art culture. My business would be located in Wellington on Arthur Street and aims to employ two people by its second year of production. In addition, the business would create work in other industries as parts are contracted out to other local business. I think to have a product like MOUNTiT designed and manufactured in the capital is good for the Wellington industry, as it supports small industries and other great ideas.

This concept is the first of its kind. MOUNTiT has its own unique innovative style, which enhances the durability and robustness of its functional design. The design follows a traditional machined aesthetic incorporating the processes of cast metal, formed steel and rubber tubing. The design will stand alone in the marketplace, as it looks completely different to all product competitors in the surfboard Racks marketplace.
As the product shows innovation in both form and function, I have patented the product in a few countries.
This idea will be made and used forever by the surfer and boarding culture, as people and communities start to see them in uses like artworks posted on the wall.
